Home Remedies for Acidity

  1. Take a glass of water with a piece of jaggery dissolved in it, after meals, and any time acidity occurs.
  2. Coconut water taken thrice a day keeps away acidity.
  3. Watermelon and cucumber slices taken every hour relieves one of acidity.
  4. Soak a teaspoon of wheat in half a glass of water at night. Drink the water in the morning. This gives relief from acidity for a long time.
  5. Make a banana shake of one banana and a glass of milk. Drinking this gives immediate relief.
  6. To get relief from acidity, drink the juice of one lemon mixed in a glass of water every morning.
  7. Cook four or five neem leaves with any vegetable every day for a week, and eat it to be cured of acidity.
  8. Dry a piece of neem bark and powder it. Add a tablespoon of it to five cups of water and boil it until the quantity reduces to two cups. Strain the liquid, and drink thrice daily in small quantities.
  9. Grind together coriander seeds, green chillies, grated coconut, ginger, and black grapes without seeds. Eat a spoon of this chutney after each meal.

Home Remedies for Constipation

  1. Soak three basil leaves in a glass of water overnight, and drink it the first thing in the morning.
  2. Eat a ripe banana before going to bed.
  3. Take a thick slice of papaya before retiring for the night.
  4. Drink hot water with lemon juice early in the morning.
  5. Rub a little salt, cumin powder and pepper powder on a sliced papaya piece and eat it twice daily.
  6. To cure one of chronic constipation, drink the juice of bottle gourd mixed with a little salt.
  7. Drink soup every night to be cured of constipation.
  8. Drink at least four glasses of water on waking up in the morning.
  9. Soak eight dates overnight. Run them in a blender with water, and drink on an empty stomach.
  10. Soak 15 raisins overnight. Drink the water and chew the raisins first.
  11. When in season, eat mangoes.
  12. The seeds of basil plants are laxative, and should be taken internally.
  13. Chewing cumin seeds after meals prevents constipation.
  14. Make an infusion of tamarind, black pepper, cloves, and cardamoms with water. Drinking this relieves one of constipation.
